Ram Venuprasad has worked extensively in the areas of political affairs, international relations, management, and international development assistance, where he has provided strategic policy advice to the private sector, high-level officials and governments in over 35 countries across every continent.
Ram has strong experience in executive direction setting, management, policy and strategy development and implementation, and working with multicultural teams, including leading many.
While at the Commonwealth Secretariat, Ram was closely involved in delivering two Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings between 2013-15 (Colombo 2013 and Malta 2015), besides two back to back mini summits in New York in September 2014 in the margins of the United Nations General Assembly. Ram has also been closely involved in delivering six annual meetings of Commonwealth Finance Ministers between 2011-16 in Washington DC (2011, 2013, 2014 and 2016), Tokyo (2012) and Lima (2015), besides other Commonwealth ministerial meetings.
Over the last decade and a half, Ram has developed collaborative partnerships with several multilateral institutions, including the European Commission, United Nations organisations, World Bank Group, besides national institutions and national governments. am considered to be an effective communicator, both written and spoken.
Ram has authored a number of international reports, publications and papers, on issues pertaining to trade, competitiveness and economic development. Whilst at the Warwick Business School, he undertook a consultancy assignment to provide policy advice to the Islamic Development Bank in the context of the Doha Ministerial Meeting and another consultancy assignment for 3iplc on behalf of the UK venture capital industry.
Ram possess a multidisciplinary academic background, including MBA from Warwick Business School. He is an Indian national.
