On 21 April 2017, the 9th Meeting of the Mixed Commission for Economic Cooperation between the Slovak Republic and the Republic of India was held in Bratislava. Commission meetings under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic are carried out at two-year intervals, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, as well as other departments and partner institutions of the Republic of India.

The meetings of the Joint Commission are an important element in the consolidation of the mutual relations between the two countries. The Indian delegation, composed of representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of India, the Federation of Indian Industrial Chambers (FICCI) and Indian entrepreneurs, was led by A. Praveen, Director General for Foreign Trade. An accompanying business forum, focusing on investment opportunities in both countries, was run by SARIO in cooperation with the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Culture in the Slovak Republic (INDCHAM). The representative office of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of India was actively involved in the preparation of the two events.
